The problem with words is that they can easily be used to hide the truth, and this is never more true when it comes to advertising. We all know that adverts are there to make a product look and sound a little better than it actually is, but sometimes we can forget that when we see something that we think must be amazing. One of the best examples of this is when a food product describes itself as ‘fat free’ or ‘sugar free’. What many people do not realise is that fat and sugar are very different things, so when a product says that it is ‘fat free’ it probably has loads of sugar in it, and when a product says that it is ‘sugar free’ it probably has loads of fat in it – which of course, they are not going to tell you.
That is why it can sometimes be so difficult to believe anything you see or hear, and why so many dentists are not believed when they describe themselves as ‘mercury free’. After all, even if they have taken all of the mercury out of their dentistry, couldn’t that just mean that they have put something else in that is just as bad? Thankfully, that is not the case. Of course, dentists have replaced mercury with other contents for their fillings to work, but those new chemicals have been proven over and over again in scientific trials that they do not harm the body. Mercury, on the other hand, has been considered a human toxin or poison for many years now.
When a dentist describes themselves as ‘mercury free’, that means that they truly care about the health of your teeth, gums, and the rest of your body – and their fillings really are free of anything dangerous.
